Taryn's Errands

Welcome Beka!

by Taryn Coffey on 02/17/12

Beka is a Junior at Stephen F. Austin State University studying Hospitality Administration, with a focus on Event Planning. She is an active member in Chi Omega sorority, and has served as social chair. Her love for event planning came when she was 14 years old, after attending her cousin's wedding and seeing what a creation and joy it was. Beka started working for Taryn at the beginning of the 2012 Spring semester. While keeping her faith in Jesus Christ and having her family's full support, she is excited about what Taryn’s Errands has in store for her and how she is growing and gaining experience.

Sweetheart Gala at the Ranch

by Taryn Coffey on 02/17/12

Where do I start?  I can't even begin to tell you what a terrific time we had!  Overall the benefit for Refuge of Light was a HUGE success.  We had about 30 fantastic silent auction items donated from East Texas businesses to shop and bid for, a delicious meal from The Fatt Apple, a dancefloor complete with tunes from The Rusty Honeycutt Band, and much more.  There are so many to thank...Rhonda & Stanley Ferguson of Stone Oak Ranch for hosting this event, Debbie Stubbs with A Touch of Nature for providing all the beautiful tablescapes and decor, Belyse Photography for capturing the night and providing a photobooth, Refuge of Light for allowing us the honor of being the first fundraiser for the 2012 Capitol Campaign, and so on.  It was a beautiful night.  So much work, yet so many rewards.

Welcome Emily!

Welcome Emily to the TE Team!

I am a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University majoring in Hospitality with a focus on Event Planning. I first realized I had a passion for event planning when I served as the social chair for my sorority, Chi Omega. I am energetic and love working with people in a fast-paced environment. I have used my talents at SFA by serving as an orientation leader for 2 years where I welcomed and facilitated events for over 2,000 incoming students and their parents. I hope to be a successful event planner and am so thankful for the opportunity Taryn has given me to further enhance my knowledge of the hospitality industry.
